Sorry you were disappointed with your trip. The vast majority of your complaints are unfortunately problems with all river cruises, and isn't confined to Viking.
We have traveled with Viking two previous times, both were excellent European river cruises. We booked a third cruise last year that includes Iceland and the British Isles for this May.

Ive taken river cruises in the past on the more luxurious lines, but when TUI announced that they were starting river cruising, I hoped that TUI would be the answer to river cruising on a budget.
There are 5 lines you should be wary of and they include some of the best-known names on the rivers of Europe. I was surprised about the first of the lines on the lower-scoring list as I had expected them to.

These River cruises are not cheap and i think you have to pay for all the tours with Tui but someone mentioned in one of the reviews that the boats dock fairly central for main tourist attrractions.
We spoke to several industry experts and we determined $2500 cash, or, $3500 credit to a future cruise, was a reasonable request considering the circumstances. We appealed this all they way.
